Jill Meagher holiday news article

ABC employee Jill Meagher was abducted just minutes from her home after having a drink with friends. Soon after a man wearing a blue hoodie was caught on CCTV footage approaching her on Brunswick Street on 9th/26th/2012. Soon later Jill’s handbag was found in an alleyway but there was no sign of Jill to be found. This quickly turned into something very serious, turning into a homicide case. There was very little hope for her to be found alive but soon ended under a wattle tree beside a dirt road in the country area of Melbourne's north-west.

It was there that police made the heartbreaking discovery of a shallow grave containing the remains of the 29 year old woman. The shallow grave in Gisborne South is where the body of missing woman Jill Meagher was found. Adrian Ernest Bayley, the 41 year old man now charged with raping and murdering Ms Meagher, accompanied police to the remote location, off Black Hill Road in Gisborne South.

A 45-minute drive from Sydney Road in Brunswick is where Ms Meagher's final moments were captured on a CCTV camera as she walked home from a bar. This all happened on the school holydays.
