Humpty Dumpty

Today was a day like no other the sky’s was blue, the birds where out but then a tragedy hit the world. At 10am this morning just outside the arts centre the famous Humpty Dumpty was playing on a wall attempting somersaults until he over balanced and missed the wall.

All the kings horses and all the kings men rushed to the scene as they witnessed the terrible accident. They immediately called the paramedics but all hope seemed lost, something great turned all so bad but the question was, was it fate or just pure bad luck. Shortly the paramedics arrived with Humpty in a series condition with a cracked head, broken neck, arm, leg, a broken pelvis and a fractured lung he was immediately take to the Alfred hospital the question is will he survive this terrible ordeal. As the world helplessly sits on the edge of their couch hoping for some sort of miracle, the question is. Will it come?
Thomas white a night for the king, a witness for this tragic day as well as one of the hero-wick saviours of the day says.

Thomas: He was busking, he was entertaining a crowd with his breakdancing moves, but he over balanced and fell to the ground. It was all so fast, I just ran to help.

Another hero of the day is Chris smith, Chris is one of the first of many paramedics to arrive at the scene

Chris: As soon as I got to the scene all I sore was blood. I did all I could but now we all wait for the doctors ok.

The scene has now been closed by the Victorian police as an investigation to find out if this was indeed an accident or an attempt on Humpty Dumpty’s life.

Jill Meagher holiday news article

ABC employee Jill Meagher was abducted just minutes from her home after having a drink with friends. Soon after a man wearing a blue hoodie was caught on CCTV footage approaching her on Brunswick Street on 9th/26th/2012. Soon later Jill’s handbag was found in an alleyway but there was no sign of Jill to be found. This quickly turned into something very serious, turning into a homicide case. There was very little hope for her to be found alive but soon ended under a wattle tree beside a dirt road in the country area of Melbourne's north-west.

It was there that police made the heartbreaking discovery of a shallow grave containing the remains of the 29 year old woman. The shallow grave in Gisborne South is where the body of missing woman Jill Meagher was found. Adrian Ernest Bayley, the 41 year old man now charged with raping and murdering Ms Meagher, accompanied police to the remote location, off Black Hill Road in Gisborne South.

A 45-minute drive from Sydney Road in Brunswick is where Ms Meagher's final moments were captured on a CCTV camera as she walked home from a bar. This all happened on the school holydays.

term 3 school holyday article (ingrown toe nail)

On term 3 of the school holydays Mark Ponirovsky a student at Christian Brothers’ College set a new record for himself he set out a painful record managing to have his 6th ingrown toe nail operation awake. Mark has had his painful ingrown toe nails for over  two years on each of his big toes on both sides of the toes, and has managed to see the inside of his toe. One of the questions the doctor raised during the operation was, “Is this ever going to end?”. The doctor has operated on Marks toes six times.

An ingrown toenail is a painful condition of the toe. It occurs when a sharp corner of the toenail digs into the skin at the end or side of the toe. Luckily there are ways to prevent this from happening to you. Tight-fitting shoes or high heels cause the toes to compress together and pressure the nail to grow unusually. The incorrect trimming of toenails can also cause the corners of the nail to dig into the skin. Nails should be trimmed straight across, not rounded. Disorders such as fungal infections of the nail can cause a thickened or extended toenail to develop. Even an injury near the nail or anything that causes the nail to be damaged frequently (such as playing soccer) can also cause an ingrown nail. If a member of your family has an ingrown toenail, then you are more likely to develop one too.

Mark borrowed crutches for the weekend and rested his foot and then came back to the doctors on the next three days after the operation. They got rid of all the bandages and he's now recovering at home following these simple but effective steps to prevent another ingrown toe nail. Mark is now able to have showers and play soccer with his mates again.

The Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is one of Australia’s most breathtaking reefs. It is one of the seven wonders of the natural world and is the world's largest coral reef. It contains plenty of marine life and includes over 3000 individual reef systems. The Great Barrier Reef is larger than the Great Wall of China and the only living thing on earth visible from space. Unfortunately crown thorn starfish, Cyclones and coral bleaching are the top 3 environmental things that are threatening our magnificent Australian back yard and all of this is related to global warming.

All the plants and animals on the reef play a big part in keeping this reef healthy and strong. Humans are relative newcomers to the reef, and we have brought some big changes. Many things that we do on the reef and on land have the potential to threaten the reef's fragile environment.
It is up to us to protect our magnificent marine life, for it is up to us to save and protect one of our best features of Australia let alone the world. We must protect the reef for it is up to us to show the next generation. If we do not it will cease to appear, half of the reef has already vanished in the past 27 years.
